Aureole- Guest are treated to a multi-level experience when they enter Aureole. Here is the view that one get when first entering the restaurant looking down into the bar area. As you can see the steps wind down around the wine tower which is the main focal point of the restaurant. The photo on page 172 and the two-level floor plan on page 173 should help clarify the strong 3-dimensional nature of the Aureole design experience.

This view looks directly into the wine tower where most of the wine inventory for Aureole is maintained. Wine "angels" attach wires to a harness and literally fly up to the various levels to retrieve bottles as ordered.  AureoleWineTower.jpg (73178 bytes)

AureoleDining.jpg (60856 bytes) Guests get an entirely different perspective when they are on the dining room level.

Bellagio-As noted on page 182, the graphic elements used in the Bellagio Hotel Casino play an important role in creating different identities. Here the bundle of noodles helps the restaurant Noodles stand out from its surroundings. However, there is more to creating an integrative look as you will read in Successful Restaurant Design

Border Grill- Fun and fanciful, the interior billboard for Border Grill helps lead customers to this popular eatery.  Border GrillEntry.jpg (85136 bytes) This view shows the interior entrance. The facade and colors reflect those used in the billboard to the left. BorderGrillInt.jpg (58194 bytes)
BorderGrillExt.jpg (96099 bytes) Those who approach Border Grill from the garden area in the Mandalay Bay Casino Hotel are faced with classical architectural elements in keeping with the rest of the casino. To create a sense of place designer Josh Schweitzer has used super-graphics throughout the design. This two-level restaurant, as shown in the floor plan on page 184 offers a dramatic contrast to the other restaurants in this complex.

A common color palette and design elements are used throughout Border Grill.
