Edition
The first edition of Successful Restaurant Design was published in
1988 by Van Nostrand Reinhold Publishers. Since then, over 20,000
copies of this book have sold to foodservice professionals,
designers, architects, and students. The premise of the text is
that both the front and back of a restaurant must work together
seamlessly if success is to be realized. The first edition
included an introduction to the process of foodservice design, the
psychology of design, design implementation in both the front and
back of the house, "mini" solutions and "maxi"
case studies.
